Struggling to find that important conversation among hundreds of chats? WhatsApp is testing a new feature for Android users that makes navigating your chats a breeze!
What’s the New Feature?
This new feature, currently available for select beta testers, introduces chat filters on the WhatsApp homepage. These filters allow you to quickly jump to specific conversations without endlessly scrolling through your chat list.
Types of Filters Available (Android Beta)
- All: This filter shows all your chats, just like before.
- Unread: Need to catch up on missed messages? This filter displays only unread chats, helping you prioritize.
- Groups: Focus on group conversations by selecting this filter to see only your group chats.
How to Access Chat Filters (Android Beta)
- Update WhatsApp to the latest beta version (version 2.23.14.17).
- Open WhatsApp and scroll down to the bottom of your chat list.
- You’ll see the new filter options – All, Unread, and Groups.
- Tap the desired filter to view the corresponding chats.
Additional Notes
- This feature is currently limited to the Android beta version of WhatsApp.
- Alongside the filter options, you’ll also see sections for Archived Chats, Locked Chats (protected with fingerprint or PIN), Status, and Community.
